This has been blogged everywhere but...

Posted by jannah at 11:27 PM on April 2, 2004.

I'm excited about Gmail! "A Google approach to email" sounds good! Free 1GB storage with an email searching sounds even better. There were rumours that it was an April Fools joke, but the press release confirmed it. I signed up for the Gmail updates list of course. Can't wait when it's opened to the public!

Couple of Photos

Taken after the ceremony one week ago. I think I look chubby in them. You can click on each photo to view the larger version on my photolog.

Hmmm

Posted by jannah at 10:29 PM on April 17, 2004.

Mama bought me a copy of Red Hat Linux 9 from Challenger! I'm going to have to learn how to partition my hard drive before I can install it though. I hope I don't screw up my PC in the process. (By the way, I'm blogging here because PinchPenny's database server seems to be down. Grrr.)

Nooo...!

Posted by jannah at 10:45 PM on April 17, 2004.

I can't believe that Jon Peter Lewis was voted off last night! He's never been in the bottom three, and suddenly he's off? What the...? It's going to get boring, I think, with only two guys left. Boo.

beautacious.net

Posted by jannah at 02:15 PM on April 18, 2004.

I won an auction for beautacious.net on DMB last night. I was contemplating whether to buy it or not, and a few minutes before the auction ended I bidded 123 bucks. I thought I'd be outbidded, but I won. Now what am I going to do with 3 domains?

It's very green

Posted by jannah at 03:22 PM on April 18, 2004.

Have I mentioned that I've a new layout up on my LiveJournal, featuring Gilmore Girls? I won a custom LJ layout auction by Taryn on DMB some time ago, so she did it for me. She did the image & overrides; I only tweaked with the fonts after that. Go see!

23rd page

Posted by jannah at 11:21 AM on April 20, 2004.

Got this meme thing from Mike Little:

  1. Grab the nearest book.

  2. Open the book to page 23.

  3. Find the fifth sentence.

  4. Post the text of the sentence on your blog along with these instructions.

Okay, here it is:
In recent years, large numbers of middle managers were laid off as companies streamlined operations.

Can anyone tell which book it came from? Hint: I've blogged about it recently.

Geeky joke

Posted by jannah at 11:13 PM on April 22, 2004.

Came across this joke in Applying UML and Patterns: An Introduction to Object-Oriented Analysis and Design and the Unified Process by Craig Larman:
Why do programmers get Halloween & Christmas mixed up? Because OCT(31) = DEC(25).

Okay, okay, geeky joke, I know.
