Scans

I scanned in the card & certificate I received in the Sun Certification package here. You'd have to register to view them though.

Whee...

Posted by jannah at 10:20 PM on February 7, 2004.

IN3D lab test today was surprisingly easy. We had to model a rocket & add in colour to the surfaces. I think that's the most complicated 3D model I've built to date. First time I used the mirror & extrude tools successfully too. Unfortunately I didn't take a screenshot of my creation, but I shall upload a couple when I can access my Zip disk in school next week. I'm actually starting to get comfortable with LightWave & liking it. It's not as cheem as I thought.

SkillPort e-learning

Posted by jannah at 09:16 PM on February 10, 2004.

This is what it looks like when I'm e-learning for eIHRM on SkillPort, (which is what I'm doing right now):

It's so...blah. Or maybe I'm just looking for something to complain about.

Bookworm-y

Posted by jannah at 10:11 PM on February 10, 2004.

I hadn't completed The Opposite of Fate by Amy Tan yet (in fact, I hardly cracked it open), but I had to return it to TP library anyway. I couldn't renew it as someone had reserved the book in advance. Boo. I'd better grab it from the library again one day. (Read More)

WordPress CSS Style Competition

Posted by jannah at 09:18 AM on February 11, 2004.

The WordPress CSS Style Competition is closed & the winners have been announced! I just found out about the competition a few days ago. Wish I had had the time to submit an entry. But I wouldn't have stood a chance, there are some seriously excellent styles up there! Maybe there'd be another contest in the future; I'd definitely try then. (Read More)

Got enough of it?

Posted by jannah at 09:19 AM on February 11, 2004.

This is so geeky: a page listing the hundreds of programming languages you can output the famous "Hello World!" in. (Link from ennovY.) I never knew there was a language called Brainf*ck! :D *explores*

ExpressionEngine

Posted by jannah at 09:20 AM on February 11, 2004.

There's a new kid on the block: ExpressionEngine. Somehow it gives me the impression that it's too full of fluff (if you get what I mean). It definitely meant to go the commercialised way, like pMachine. (Which is, may I add, rather ironic, as I could spot three spelling mistakes within seconds of browsing a couple of pages.) But US$199.00 for one owned license is way too much, no matter how good it is! US$50.00 for a 30-day hosted demo is a rip-off too, in my opinion. I'll stick to my open source software, thank you very much.

3D rocket

Posted by jannah at 07:09 PM on February 16, 2004.

Remember I said I wanted to show the rocket I had modelled for the IN3D lab test? I doubt anyone cares, but here it is anyway.

Here's the screenshot showing the rocket in all viewports in LightWave Modeler.

As if Google hasn't indexed enough pages already, it now spans 4.28 billion web pages!

I haven't came across most of the weblogs on this periodic table of blogs. Have you?

This is mega cool. When you stop moving your mouse for about 5 seconds it'll dance around on its own. Heh. Looking at this page made me dizzy after a while.

Goodbye MS Office

Posted by jannah at 03:31 PM on February 23, 2004.

I have finally done the unthinkable: ditched Microsoft Office. It has served me for years, but ever since I've discovered better, cheaper alternatives out there, it irks me to think that I've put up with it all this while. I <3 OpenOffice. Soon enough, I'm going to ditch Windows XP altogether. *evil laughter*

WP Style Switcher

Posted by jannah at 04:20 PM on February 23, 2004.

Installed Alex King's WP Style Switcher on my weblog today. I'm amazed at how simple & compact it is. Now I just need styles for it to actually function as a style switcher. Heh.

Yesterday's DG

Posted by jannah at 11:33 AM on February 27, 2004.

My Daily Grind for yesterday is now up! I took 25 photos, which is more than I did the last time. They're low resolution though, as I wanted to squeeze as many photos as I could into my memory card-less digicam.
